On Friday 24th March 2017, we raised over £250 for Red Nose Day 2017. We did this by playing games, having a bake sale, and organising a raffle. The winner of the raffle won a hamper’s worth of Easter eggs – something everyone wanted to win. All of the winners won prizes, and even some of the runners-up did too!

In total, we raised £250.15 – we are delighted with the outcome as this was one of the highest amounts we have ever raised!

Red Nose Day

He hoped to raise as much money as possible on the day, to help make a real difference in the world. An extract from the ‘Red Nose Day‘ website reads: “There are some incredible projects, in the UK and Africa, that have found effective ways to tackle poverty and injustice. Your money means we can choose the best and then fund them.” So, we knew the money would be put to good use to help people!

How did we raise money?

To make the day fun, as the Red Nose Day site also reads; “Make your laugh matter”, we took part in lots of games, a cake bake sale, a Hula Hoop competition, and a raffle.

The games we played consisted of…

‘Guess Who’ – a competition whereby many of us bought in ‘unrecognisable photos’ of ourselves. Then all we had to do was guess who is who. Sounds easy, right? Well, it wasn’t. We can reveal that no-one got all of them right – with only a few scoring near top marks.

‘Guess how long it takes the comedian to fit a lightbulb’ – this was a game created by Red Nose Day.

A ‘Hula Hoop’ competition – now this was probably the funniest part of the day. From near misses, to the experts swinging their hips for minutes on end, we saw all sorts techniques within this game. As you can imagine, things got a little competitive and in the end, we had 2 winners!

We also held a ‘Cake Bake’ sale…

Ah, the delicious cakes were a welcome sight, and a treat for watering mouths! Lots of people took part in this, with everything on the table from Red Velvet Cake to Double Layered Chocolate Fudge Cake. Oh, not to mention the Carrot Cakes. Just look at the deliciousness…

The raffle…

The raffle was a big seller on the day. We had a huge hamper full of Easter eggs up for grabs, and people were very generous when it came to buying tickets for it. With nearly £100 attributed from the raffle, towards the total amount raised, we can safely say that it was a huge success. The winner got to take away around 10 different Easter eggs, all wrapped up in a pretty basket with a bow on the top!

Red Nose Day

We would like to say a huge thank you to our Associate Director (Marketing and I.T.), Director, and HR and Facilities Manager, who all contributed towards the prizes won on the day.

We’re glad we could take part in raising money to help people around the world. We look forward to raising more money for Red Nose Day in 2018!
