Adam’s fifth generation Honda Prelude has a 2.2 litre engine which gives out around 186.7bhp.

The glistening purple is certainly pleasing on the eye – it’s a true show stopper. However, it wasn’t always like this. Adam decided to change the colour soon after purchasing it.

Other modifications, apart from the colour change, include: lowering springs, a new exhaust, and a new set of alloys.

Q&A with Adam

After speaking with Adam we found out that he’s owned a total of 8 cars so far. The first car he ever owned was a 1.8 litre Vauxhall Vectra. We were intrigued to know more so we asked Adam a few questions about himself, his passion for cars, and what advice he’d give others when it comes to modifying cars…

How many cars have you ever owned?

“In total I’ve owned 8 cars. The first car I ever owned was a 1.8 litre Vauxhall Vectra.”

Do you have any advice for someone wanting to modify a car?

“Quite simply, just do what you want to do. Nobody else’s opinions matter – it’s your car!”

If money was no object, what car would you buy? And what track would you drive it on?

“Honda NSX-R. I’ve always loved the NSX, the ‘R’ version would just be a dream come true! In terms of driving it on a track, it would have to be the Bathurst 1000.”

What’s more important for you; visual modifications? Or, engine modifications?

“I like both but the order would be visual mods first, followed by engine mods second. I like making a car look great.”

Are there any forums you’d recommend for fellow car enthusiasts?

“Facebook groups such as: Kuruma UK, Mods n Motion, E85 and 5W.”

Who’s your favourite F1 driver of all time? And why?

“Senna – always. He once test drove the Honda NSX and told Honda to stiffen up the suspension, and they did… because Senna told them to!”

We also put some questions to Adam about his pride and joy – his car. Here’s what he had to say…

What’s been your favourite car to drive?

“My Honda Prelude 5G without a doubt. I love everything about it, from the way it handles to the way it sounds – everything.”

Taking into consideration how important your car is to you, who do you trust to perform work on it?

“I use two main garages to perform any kind of work on my car. Those garages are: JM Imports and Spanner Monkeys.”

Do you take your car to any shows or car meets?

“I like attending both Japfest at Donnington and Japfest at Silverstone. I actually used to run a Japanese car club called ‘Kuruma UK’ located in the North East. Now, I run a club called ‘Mods n Motion’. It’s work checking it out – some great cars are a part of it!”

We would like to take this opportunity to thank Adam for the insights into his very own car world. It’s always great to hear what other enthusiasts have to say and what they find interesting.
