Luke’s modified Toyota Supra Mkiv has a 3.0 litre, straight-six, twin-turbo, VVTI engine. It’s also had a full re-paint in the ‘Ferrari Giallo Moden Yellow’ and has plenty of other modifications.

The car gets a lot of attention for the paint work. A lot of this attention happens at the numerous shows he attends throughout the year. Luke attends many of the shows with Race line media. Some of the shows he attends include: Spring action day, Forge, JDM Combe, Summer action day, and more (all at Castle Combe). When he’s not there, he goes to other shows such as: Japfest and Trax (at Silverstone). He certainly gets to show off the Supra!

Luke’s passion for cars…

All in all, Luke has owned 9 cars.  His first car was a Vauxhall Corsa – a great car for any first time driver. Since then, out of all the cars he’s owned, his all-time favourite car to drive is the one he owns now – his modified Toyota Supra.

Luckily, Luke’s best friend is a mechanic and he does all of the mechanical work for him. In Luke’s own words; “Big shout out to JT”. In addition, he has a friend who’s great when it comes to paintwork and therefore did the re-paint for him. Again, in Luke’s words: “Cheers Spinkie”. So when it comes to the work on his car, he knows it will be carried out properly. It’s absolutely vital that you trust the people who are working on your car – particularly if it’s a project car.

When it comes to ‘modifications’ as a topic, Luke believes that both visual and engine modifications are equally as important as each other. However, with this particular Supra, he focused more on the exterior (although he did mention that he likes to keep the engine bay as tidy as possible).

Whilst talking to Luke, we put some other questions to him. Here’s what he had to say:

Money being no object, what car would you have?

“Honestly? I have absolutely no idea… if I was time pressured into giving an answer right now, I’d probably miss the opportunity. I honestly couldn’t say!”

How do you communicate with fellow car enthusiasts?

“I am on the Driftworks forum and the mkiv Supra owners forum. It’s good to see the progress of other cars. I love the work and passion that goes into them.”

Do you have any advice for someone who wants to modify their car for the first time?

“Yes… buy a Toyota Supra (haha).”

What’s your all-time favourite Motorsport?

“It has to be drifting. The drifting in the BDC and the IDC this year has been absolutely amazing!”
