Customers Cars – Craig’s amazing Toyota Mr2
Craig, in August 2013 fancied purchasing a T-Bar Toyota MR2 Turbo...taking a big jump he purchased this as his latest project....
Its fair to say that if I had seen this lying around I doubt I would feel inclined to take this on as a project, clearly an enormous amount of work needed to be done!
In the picture above, with front wheels fitted - its worth a mention but in order to get the rear moving, a custom subframe with castors attached was bolted on as a temporary measure just to transport the vehicle - genius.
Work quickly commenced and Craig's garage (SBits) cracked on, as progress was immediately made!
Taking the top half of the engine apart, cleaning, refurbishing and rebuilding.
Heat shield for the turbo, not only looks good and an improvement on a turbo blanket but has longevity too.
Rebuilt with the charge cooler and that'll be the engine ready to roll - looking brand new and already taking shape!

The interior utilises some Recaro seats from a Mitsubishi Evo 7.
Respray in jet black to finish the car off.
A quite simply stunning MR2, saved from a scrap man and bought back to its full glory and in such a short amount of time - this is one of the most impressive builds I have read this summer!
I gather the next step is a fully forged engine - we'll be eagerly watching out for updates!
