High Performance Cars: the Aston Martin DB11
High Performance Cars are those that ooze luxury, style, and grace. They combine these elements with roaring power and extreme speed. One could argue the ultimate aim is to have the ability to thrill their passengers like no other, yet then again, you could also argue that their main aim is to impress those on the sidelines - those who aren't even in the driving seat.
The cars aim to please and their manufacturers ensure every detail is thought out, planned and carried out in the most precise and immaculate manner.
High Performance Cars
High Performance Cars are often highly regarded. Marques within the 'high performance' category (or have particular models within the category) include:
- Aston Martin
- Bentley
- Maserati
- Rolls Royce
- Ferrari
- Lamborghini
- Porsche
- Mercedes
The vehicles are generally of higher value than standard performance cars. They usually have the higher end mechanical specifications and include equipment that's expensive to replace should you ever need to. As a result of this, you'll find the majority of these cars at the higher end of the insurance group ratings. For example, the majority of Aston Martin vehicles are group 50. Group 50 is the highest insurance group rating you can get. Basically, the vehicles in this band are the most expensive to insure.
The Aston Martin DB11
The Aston Martin DB11 is a High Performance Car which is often described as a luxury Grand Tourer (GT); well, a twin-turbo GT. The design concept replaces that of its predecessor - the DB9 (2004).
Price - You can pick up a DB11 for an eye-watering £154,955 - £167,070.
Trims - You can select the 'Standard Trim' model or the 'Launch Trim' model. The Launch Trim will set you back a fair bit more than the Standard Trim model.
Engine / Power - The car is built with start / stop technology and an 8 speed gearbox. It has a 5.2 litre petrol engine and can go from 0-60mph in just 3.8 seconds (the power of 600bhp under the bonnet may have something to do with this). The car also claims to be able to do 200mph. Let's believe that when we see it, and when we see it - let's be amazed. Oh, and one more thing... did we mention it's a V12?
Appearance - The DB11 has LED lights for daytime running at the front. It also has a long bonnet and a jutting front spoiler. In addition to this it also has 'sculptured / blistered' rear wheel arches and an 'Aeroblade' spoiler at the back.
Andy Palmer - The CEO of Aston Martin, commented:
DB11 is the absolute embodiment of what an Aston Martin should be, and we have worked tirelessly to ensure that the DB11 combines both exceptional design with the latest technology throughout.
