The majority of the details are to be confirmed upon the actual release of the car. Despite this, there are some of the elements that were used on the prototype which we hope they include on the production vehicles. What are the elements? I hear you ask, well, wait no longer...
The prototype 2017 Honda Civic Type R showcased a triple exhaust system, carbon-fibre diffuser, and flared arches with 20 inch wheels underneath.
The current Type R gives out 306bhp - the 2017 model is rumoured to be able to give out a whopping 340bhp. This is a considerable increase in power, and one that just pushes the boundaries that little bit further.
The shape of the body of the car adopts a practical approach, compared to recent models. It will allow for more movement, stability, and agility. The new Type R is due to be around 20mm lower, 30mm wider, and 130mm longer than the present model.
The car is to be built at the Honda facility in Swindon (in Wiltshire), where the standard hatchback version will also be built. Apparently, production is supposed to commence play in the second half of 2017.
Once finalised and all the checks are complete, the car will then be ready for sale and distribution across the rest of the world. For the first time, the Type R will be available to those living in North America - it's official.
