We raised over £139 for Macmillan Cancer Support!
Today, we took part in the #MacmillanCoffeeMorning, raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support. This event is designed for everyone to take part. You bake (or buy) cakes, have a cup of coffee (or tea) and raise money for charity.
In total, we raised an incredible £139.35. As a result, we would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who donated. Every single penny counts! Now, let's take a look at all of the fabulous baking that was on display...
Did someone say CAKE?
A wide variety of cakes were baked... carrot cake, chocolate cake, strawberry cheesecake, lemon drizzle cake and more. There was lots of cupcakes too, and yummy cookies - we love cookies! Words such as scrumptious, yummy, and delicious have the perfect definitions of how we can describe today.
There was a 'Born to Bake' award too. This was awarded to Mary, who works in our Admin department. She spent over 5 hours baking lots of different cakes - for this, we thank her!
We also played a game Macmillan provided: 'Place the Cherry on the Gateau'. The winner of this was Carol, who works in our Fleet department. She placed the Cherry closest to the mark on top of the gateau. And it only took her one attempt - well done Carol!
We would like to take this opportunity to say thank you to everyone involved. To those who spent hours baking cakes, cupcakes, cookies, biscuits, and so on. To those who bought in fresh fruit, croissants, cakes, biscuits and more... and to all of you who donated. All of the money will be going to an extremely worthy charity.
Macmillan Cancer Support
Macmillan Cancer Support provides specialised health care (as well as financial support and information) to people who have been affected by cancer. At present, they are one of the largest British charities to do so. Taking part in events, such as the #MacmillanCoffeeMorning, really helps to spread their message and raise money for this worthy cause.
